Product Description

Armoured Cable Straight Joint Kit for Underground & Outdoor Power Lines

Avantar's Armoured Cable Straight Joint Kit is a straight-type splicing part that joins two pieces of armoured power cable back together. Keeps the electricity flowing Keeps water out Keeps the splice zone mechanically safe It operates with low and medium voltage systems in outdoor, subterranean and under water locations. The kit includes two kinds of shells, plastic and metal. It can be put together by hand or with heat-shrink. IEC 60502, IEEE 404, CE, and RoHS all say that it works.

What Is an Armoured Cable Straight Joint Kit?

Two armoured power line ends can be joined together at a single splice point with a straight joint kit. This restores full electrical performance across the junction. It's not just a connector; it's a full protection system for the splice zone.

The kit provides electrical continuity, a seal that keeps out dust and water, and a mechanical shield around the cable joint. This makes it the standard way to extend cables and fix cables on the spot in tough field conditions like buried installations, wet places and power distribution networks that are out in the open.

Key Features

Waterproof and Dustproof Sealing

When cable joints are buried or exposed, the sealing mechanism prevents dust and water penetration. This provides durable performance in damp and subterranean locations.

Choice of Metal Shell

For sites under more mechanical stress like road crossings, or industrial places, you can request a metal outer shell which is more resistant to physical impact than conventional plastic shells.

Supports Cable Extension and Repair

The straight junction kit can be used for new cable extensions or to make emergency repairs to existing lines. And it may repair a broken portion of armoured cable without replacing the full run of wires.

Wide Range of Compatibility

The joint works underground, underwater, and outside, in humid climates, for buried installations, and for power distribution networks that are out in the open.

Custom Design Options

Avantar allows for easy customisation so that joint kits can be made to fit the needs of each job.

Shell: Select a plastic shell for normal subterranean use or a metal shell if extra mechanical protection is required such as for road crossings, industrial cabling, or situations where physical impact is possible.

Higher sealing level: If regular waterproofing is not sufficient, improved sealing can be offered for very moist subsurface, waterlogged ducts or for submarine cable segments.

Compatible cable diameters: Joint kits can be set up to work with a range of armoured cable outer diameters. Give the technical team the details of your cable, and they'll confirm the right dimensions for matching.

Customising the packaging: Infrastructure projects that are based on bids may need specific labels, paperwork, or sets of installation accessories that come together. Custom packaging can be set up to help with logistics on the site and during procurement.

Send your project specification or cable datasheet to [email protected] for a technical review if you want a custom answer.

How to Specify?

Giving correct information up front can help keep specification mistakes from happening on site. To make sure you get the right kit for your job, you need the following information.

Step 1: Check the cable data: Make sure you know the voltage rating (LV or MV), the outer diameter, and the type of armour (steel wire or steel tape).

Step 2: Installation environment: Say whether the installation is buried, submerged, or open to the elements outside. If you need to do work underground, make a note of whether the area is wet or likely to flood.

Step 3: Installing the product: Pick a mechanical assembly if you don't have access to heat tools on site, or a heat-shrink assembly if you do.

Step 4: Check the shell requirement: Make sure that a standard plastic shell is okay or that a metal shell is needed for mechanical protection.

Step 5: Quantity and certification needs: List the number of units you need for each model and any certifications you need to get them through customs or submit a bid, like an IEC test report, a CE declaration, or a certificate of origin.

Send these information to [email protected], and the technical team will get back to you with a product suggestion and price.

Package

Applications

The straight joint kit is used across power infrastructure projects where armoured cable connections must remain reliable over the long term.

  • Underground cable lines in urban and suburban power distribution networks
  • Outdoor overhead-to-underground cable transitions in public infrastructure projects
  • Industrial plant cabling in factories, processing facilities, and energy storage installations
  • Renewable energy projects including solar farm cable runs and wind farm below-grade cabling
  • Cable repair jobs on existing underground or outdoor armoured cable networks

Certifications and Quality Standards

Products are manufactured according to IEC 60502 (power cable accessories), IEEE 404 (cable splicing in North America), CE (European market) and RoHS (restricted substances).

Installation tools, instructions, certificate of origin, IEC and CE test results for customs clearance and tender paperwork. Each export cargo contains.

For large orders we can provide small-quantity sample orders for you to examine the quality. We will provide you with a comprehensive evaluation of all the certification documentation, a video inspection of the finished items, or a third-party pre-shipment inspection by an organization such as SGS, BV or Tüv.

FAQ

Q: What kinds of installations are there, and how do I pick one?

A: You can get the product in both mechanical-type and heat-shrink-type assemblies. The mechanical type works well in places where heat application equipment isn't available or isn't practical. Heat-shrink type is best when there is a reliable source of heat and the crews know how to use it. The sealing and security abilities of both types are the same.

Q: Do you make things or do you trade?

A: Avantar is a direct manufacturer. At our Guangdong factory, we match parts, put them together, and check the quality all in-house. Working directly with the factory speeds up technical discussion for needs that are unique to the project. Before shipping, both video inspection and inspection by a third party are possible.

Q: Can joint kits be changed to fit the needs of a specific site?

A: Yes. Custom choices include choosing between a metal or plastic shell, better sealing for areas that get extra wet, fittings that are made to fit a specific diameter, and packaging that is ready to be used. Give the technical team information about your project or cables, and they will let you know what options are out there. Most models have a MOQ of 10 sets.

Q: What kinds of licenses are there?

A: IEC 60502, IEEE 404, CE, and RoHS all agree with joint kits. There is a proof of origin and CE and IEC test reports with every shipment. Large buyers can have SGS, BV, or TÜV inspect the goods before they are shipped.

Q: What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) and how long is the lead time?

A: As a general rule, the MOQ for each type is 10 sets. Items from our catalogue usually ship between 7 and 15 business days. After the plan is approved, it takes 20 to 30 working days to make custom-modified kits. You can choose to send goods by sea freight or air freight.

Q: What kinds of trade terms and export papers are given?

A: Quotes can be given under EXW, FOB, and other common terms used in international trade. For customs clearance and submitting infrastructure bids, export paperwork includes a certificate of origin, IEC test reports, and CE declarations.
