Product Description

Cable Glands for Industrial and Hazardous Environments

Avantar makes cable glands in nickel plated brass, SS304 stainless steel and nylon PA66 in M12-M63, PG7-PG48 and NPT thread standards. The cable outer diameters are from 3 mm to 50 mm and support both armoured (SWA) and un-armoured cables. Each fitting provides IP66, IP67 or IP68 ingress protection and complies with IEC 62444 and EN 50262. Standard catalogue products will be shipped from our manufacturer in Guangdong within 5-10 working days.

What Are Cable Glands and Why Do They Matter?

The items are cable entrance fittings which perform three purposes concurrently, sealing the cable entry point against dust and moisture, holding the cable mechanically and providing strain relief to protect the conductor termination inside the enclosure.

Even a carefully built enclosure will not maintain its IP rating at every cable entry point without a correctly rated fitting. So selecting the right material and thread standard for your site conditions is a key step in every panel build or field install.

Key Features

  • IP66 / IP67 / IP68 ingress protection — dust-tight and waterproof up to continuous submersion
  • Armoured (SWA) and unarmoured cable versions available
  • Thread options: Metric M-series, PG, and NPT — one supplier for all three standards
  • Cable OD range: 3 mm to 50 mm across the product family
  • Strain relief and cable retention built into every design
  • Compliant with IEC 62444, EN 50262, and RoHS requirements

Material Options

Nickel-plated brass is good corrosion resistance and great mechanical strength. It is a viable alternative for general purpose industrial machines, outdoor control cabinets and panel builds where a metal body is needed.

SS304 Stainless Steel is corrosion resistant in medium to severe corrosive conditions such as coastal installations, food processing facilities, chemical plants and marine deck equipment.

Nylon PA66 is a low cost, light weight material that has no electrical conductivity. Suitable for indoor, non-hazardous panel use and decreases the total enclosure weight in control cabinet constructions.

How to Specify?

Confirming four data points before ordering Cable Glands helps avoid IP sealing failures on site.

  1. Identify the enclosure thread — measure the knockout or pre-threaded hole to determine whether it is Metric, PG, or NPT, and confirm the thread size and pitch.
  2. Measure the cable outer diameter — measure the finished cable OD including any armour or outer jacket, not the conductor size alone.
  3. Select the material grade — brass for general industrial use, SS304 for corrosive or marine environments, nylon PA66 for indoor non-hazardous panels.
  4. Confirm the IP rating required — IP66 for jet-wash resistance, IP68 for continuous submersion.

Once you have these four data points, our team can confirm the correct part number, check stock availability, and issue a formal quotation. IEC 62444 and EN 50262 compliance documents, certificate of origin, and RoHS test reports are provided with every shipment. For large-volume orders, finished-goods video inspection or third-party inspection can be arranged on request.

Custom Design Options

The usual catalogue sizes will be enough for most jobs, but some industrial and infrastructural projects need something a bit more specialised. Avantar provides OEM and ODM customisation from customer designs, site specification or tender documentation.

Typical customer requirements include specific thread sizes outside the normal range, sealing ranges outside the standard cable diameters, certain surface treatments or material grades, private-label labelling and armoured versions with earthing tags for SWA installations where armour continuity is required.

Send your drawings or enclosure thread specifications to [email protected] to discuss your needs.

Certifications and Quality Standards

Products are marked CE, RoHS, IEC 62444, EN 50262. With each export cargo we will give Certificate of Origin and IEC test results for easy clearance of custom and submission of tender. Hazardous area or marine infrastructure projects might be subject to third party pre-shipment examination by SGS, BV or TÜV on request.

FAQ

Q: Types of cable used in your products?

A: They support both armoured (SWA) and un-armoured cables. Thread ranges: M12-M63, PG7-PG48 and NPT, cable outer diameters 3 mm to 50 mm.

Q: Are you manufacturing or trading company?

A: Avantar is a direct producer. Our Guangdong plant offers precision machining, injection moulding and surface treatment for brass, SS304 and nylon PA66 parts.

A: How do I select the proper material?

A: Nickel-plated brass is good for general industrial and outdoor cabinet applications. SS304 stainless steel is more appropriate in corrosive or marine environment. Good for — (Indoor panel wiring, non-hazardous locations) Nylon PA66.

Q: What are the quality papers?

A: Yes, we give a certificate of origin and IEC test reports on IEC 62444 and RoHS compliance for each shipment. For significant order, we may arrange finished-goods video inspection or third-party inspection.

Q: What is the MOQ and lead time?

A: MOQ is usually 100 pcs/model. Standard catalogue goods. Lead time 5-10 working days after order confirmation. Quotations ex-works, FOB and other normal trade conditions available on request.

Q: Can items be tailored to unique project needs?

A: Uh huh, yeah. Avantar offers OEM & ODM modification based on customer drawings or specifications. Typical choices include unique thread diameters, non-standard sealing ranges, specific material grades and private-label branding. For any technical needs contact us at [email protected].
