Product Description

Flexible Laminated Copper Busbar for Energy Storage & Industrial Power Systems

The Flexible Laminated Copper Busbar from Avantar is designed to connect high-current power sources in energy storage systems, battery packs, and industrial equipment. Each unit has solid terminal blocks made from 99.90% pure T2 copper foils that have been laminated and welded at the ends. You can choose a width between 10 mm and 120 mm, and you can also make changes to the thickness, surface treatment, and insulation. The products are approved by ISO 9001, RoHS, and CE. Avantar ships from Guangdong, China, to 58 different countries.

Why Laminated Structure Matters?

Products that are laminated are different from those that are solid or rigid. A connection that bends but keeps an open electrical path is made by stacking several thin copper foils on top of each other and welding the ends together to make solid terminal blocks.

This design fixes three problems that happen a lot in battery packs and energy storage systems: vibration fatigue, thermal expansion stress, and connection points that aren't lined up correctly. When exposed to different temperatures, rigid busbars can crack or come loose. The laminated design, on the other hand, can handle movement without affecting the integrity of the contacts.

Key Features

  • 99.90% pure T2 copper for high conductivity and stable long-term performance
  • Laminated-welded terminals — copper foils stacked and fused at each end for mechanical strength
  • Flexible body — absorbs vibration and thermal expansion in battery modules and server power units
  • Low contact resistance with high current-carrying capacity for high-power circuits
  • Surface options — bare copper, tin-plated, or silver-plated depending on your environment and budget
  • Insulation options — PVC sleeve, heat shrink tube, or Kapton tape for added protection

Application Scenarios

This product is used wherever a rigid copper connector would be exposed to vibration, thermal cycling, or positional offset.

Energy Storage Systems (ESS): Battery cell-to-cell and module-to-module connections in lithium battery packs, where thermal expansion across hundreds of cells creates stress on fixed connections.

Server & Data Center Power: GPU server cabinets and UPS systems where high bus currents and continuous operation require low-resistance, vibration-tolerant connections.

Industrial Power Modules: Variable frequency drives, inverters, and rectifiers where Flexible Laminated Copper Busbar connections must survive both mechanical vibration and high heat cycles.

Renewable Energy Equipment: Solar inverters and wind power converters that require flexible inter-component connections in compact enclosures.

Custom Design Options

Battery pack and power system layouts vary — a standard off-the-shelf part often does not fit. Avantar supports full customization for each order.

What you can specify:

  • Width: 10 mm to 120 mm
  • Length: Per your drawing or sample
  • Thickness: Calculated by your current rating requirement
  • Bending: 2D flat bends or 3D complex bends to match your assembly geometry
  • Terminals: Bolted holes, soldered pads, or crimped ends — or mixed types on one unit
  • Plating: Bare copper, tin-plated (anti-oxidation), or silver-plated (higher conductivity and corrosion resistance)
  • Insulation: Full-length PVC sleeve, heat shrink, Kapton tape, or partial insulation leaving only contact zones exposed — useful for high-voltage battery packs

OEM and ODM orders are accepted. Submit your CAD drawing or sample to receive a design review and quote within 1–2 business days.

How to Place an Order?

To get an accurate quote, prepare the following details before reaching out:

  1. Current rating (Amps) — determines required cross-sectional area and foil thickness
  2. Width — in millimeters, within 10–120 mm or specify custom
  3. Length — overall length from terminal to terminal
  4. Bending requirements — flat, single-angle, or multi-plane 3D bending
  5. Terminal type — bolted, soldered, or crimped; hole diameter and pitch if bolted
  6. Surface treatment — bare, tinned, or silver-plated
  7. Insulation requirement — full coverage or partial; material preference (PVC, heat shrink, Kapton)
  8. Quantity — standard MOQ is 100 pieces per model; prototype runs of 10–50 pieces are available

If you have a drawing, send it directly to [email protected]. If you have an existing part to match, our team can work from your sample.

Quality & Certifications

The goods are in line with international rules like ISO 9001, CE, RoHS, UL 486A/B, IEC 60502, IEC 60076, IEC 62561, ANSI C29.13, and IEEE 404.

Every batch that is made is checked for quality in-house. Some of these are checking the materials, measuring them, and testing them for problems with high-potential electricity. Each shipment comes with a Material Test Report (MTR) that proves the copper is pure and good at conducting electricity.

People who want extra peace of mind before placing big orders can use Avantar's on-site factory audits, live video inspections, and third-party pre-shipment inspections by SGS, Bureau Veritas, or TÜV. The paperwork for an energy storage project can be found in IEC and UL sets.

FAQ

Q: What is a product and why should I use one instead of a rigid busbar?

A: The product is a high current connection constructed by stacking thin foils of high purity copper (T2 copper, ≥99.90%) and welding the terminal ends to solid blocks. Unlike a rigid busbar it is laminated construction which bends to absorb vibration thermal expansion and assembly misalignment. This makes it ideal for ESS battery packs, GPU server cabinets and industrial power modules where rigid connections can shatter under thermal cycling.

Q: Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?

A: Avantar is the direct producer in Guangdong China. Within our own plant, we take care of the entire production process, from copper foil slitting, lamination, welding, punching, plating, insulation sleeving and hipot testing. By working directly with the factory, we eliminate the middleman markup, speed up communication on design changes, and have visibility of the entire process. The factory is ISO 9001 and all goods from the manufacturer are RoHS and CE compliant.

Q: Can I get it made to my specifications?

A: Yes. We offer complete customisation to your CAD drawings or written specifications. Parameters can be customised such as length, breadth (10~120 mm), thickness (per current need), 2D/3D bending angles, hole designs, mixed terminal kinds. There are also high voltage battery packs that are partially insulated i.e. only exposed contact regions. Prototype samples ready in 5-10 working days. Sample fees credited to your first bulk order.

Q: What kind of certifications do you have and how can I verify the quality before ordering?

A: Our factory is ISO9001 certified. Products are CE comply and RoHS compliant. Each shipment contains a MTR certifying the purity and conductivity of the copper. You may order prototype samples, study our ISO 9001 certificate & RoHS/MTR documentation, organise an on-site or video factory audit, or arrange for a third-party pre-shipment inspection with SGS, Bureau Veritas or TÜV prior to placing a bulk order.

Q: What is your minimum order, lead time and payment terms?

A: Standard MOQ is 100 pieces per model. Design validation prototype orders of 10-50 pcs allowed. Production lead time is 7-15 working days for conventional designs and 15-25 working days for customised designs. Payment is 30% T/T deposit, 70% balance before shipment. We quote on a FOB, CIF, DDP or EXW basis.

Q: What are your delivery methods?

A: Avantar is close to Shenzhen and Guangzhou ports and can handle marine and air freight. Sea freight usually takes 20-35 days depending on destination, air freight 3-7 days. For urgent orders or small sample numbers we propose air or express courier service. We ship to 58+ countries and can manage logistics on your preferred Incoterms.
