Product Description

Helical Ground Screw Anchor for Solar Ground-Mount and Infrastructure Foundation Projects

The Helical Ground Screw Anchor from Avantar is made of high-strength steel that has been hot-dip galvanised and is designed to be installed without digging in solar farms, transmission towers and infrastructure projects. It has shaft diameters ranging from 1.5" to 3", helix diameters ranging from 4" to 12", and lengths ranging from 3 ft to 12 ft. This makes it suitable for use in a wide range of soil conditions. Each unit is galvanised according to ASTM A153 standards to protect against rust for a long time outside.

What Is a Helical Ground Screw Anchor?

A product is a steel shaft with one or more helical plates that let it be rotated straight into the ground. There is no need to dig, pour concrete, or wait for it to harden. The plan works for ground-mounting systems for solar farms, guy-wire anchoring, transmission tower foundations and temporary or permanent fences.

The anchor can hold the structure and also act as a foundation earthing electrode, doing both mechanical and electrical grounding in one part. This cuts down on the cost of materials and the number of steps needed to build big projects.

Key Features and Performance Advantages

The helical plate shape spreads the load along the shaft, making it very resistant to both axial pull-out and lateral uplift forces. This is a useful property for solar farms where wind uplift loads can be big.

According to ASTM A153, hot-dip galvanising makes a thick, even zinc coating that adheres mechanically to the steel surface. This keeps the anchor from rusting in outdoor soil conditions for the expected service life of renewable energy infrastructure.

Helixes can be set up in a single, double, or triple form, so they can be used with different types of soil, such as sandy, clay-heavy, or loose-fill conditions. Each project has a unique top connection point that is made to fit your racking system or structural attachment needs.

Applications

These ground screw anchors are used across a wide range of projects:

  • Solar panel ground-mounting systems – the primary application for utility-scale and commercial PV farms
  • Transmission and distribution tower foundations – where fast mobilization is needed
  • Guy-wire anchoring – for telecom towers and overhead line structures
  • Temporary structures and event fencing – where removable anchors are preferred
  • Soft-soil foundation support – where conventional shallow footings are unreliable

The excavation-free design reduces site preparation time, labor costs, and environmental disturbance compared to traditional concrete pier foundations.

Custom Design Options

All of the important parts of the Helical Ground Screw Anchor can be customised by Avantar to fit the needs of a specific project. Based on your structural drawings and soil reports, you can choose the shaft diameter, the number of helixes, the diameter of the helixes, the length of the anchor, and the type of top connection.

If your solar farm project has non-standard rack systems, you can change the top connection interface to fit the shape of your brackets. If the ground is soft or has a lot of uplift, a triple-helix configuration can be chosen to increase the holding capacity without making the shaft bigger.

You can choose between OEM and ODM. You can give us your own engineering drawings or technical requirements, and we'll make what you want. For each custom batch, you can ask for material certifications, galvanising test results, and mechanical performance data.

How to Specify?

When placing an inquiry or order, please provide the following information so our engineering team can confirm the correct configuration:

  1. Shaft diameter – based on your load and installation torque requirements
  2. Helix quantity and diameter – matched to your soil classification (loose, medium, dense)
  3. Anchor length – based on required embedment depth
  4. Top connection type – your racking or structural attachment detail
  5. Required load data – uplift, pull-out, and lateral loads from your structural engineer
  6. Site soil report (if available) – helps confirm helix spacing and configuration

Standard MOQ is 100 pieces per model. Once your specifications are confirmed, standard production lead time is 7–15 working days. Full documentation including certificate of origin, galvanizing test reports, and mechanical data is supplied with each shipment.

Quality and Compliance

Avantar makes sure that their products meet worldwide standards for foundation and grounding parts, such as ISO 9001, CE, RoHS, IEC 62561, and ANSI requirements. Our Guangdong plant does all of its own production, including cutting steel, helix plate welding, hot-dip galvanising, checking for errors in size, and testing mechanical performance.

Large orders for solar farms and transmission infrastructure can get a video inspection before they are sent out. For tender-level procurement, a third-party witness review can be set up. All export shipments come with a proof of origin and the necessary test reports to help with clearing customs and submitting project bids.

FAQ

Q: What are hot-dip galvanised helical screw anchors and what benefits do they bring to solar-farm ground-mount projects?

A: Helical screw anchors are made from high-strength steel, hot-dip galvanised to ASTM A153, and have helical-plate blades for use as a foundation. They are driven straight into the ground without excavation, and offer pull-out and uplift resistance. They are used as mechanical foundation anchors and as foundation earthing electrodes.

Q: Are you a producer or a trading reseller?

A: Avantar is a direct manufacturer. All steel cutting, helix-plate welding, hot-dip galvanising, dimensional inspection and mechanical testing are done by ourselves at our facility in Guangdong. No middle man. Straight from our manufacturer. Fast technical communication for big scale solar and infrastructure projects.

Q: When ordering for different soils what parameters do I need to specify?

A: Specify shaft diameter, helix diameter and amount, overall length of anchor, and conformance with ASTM A153 galvanising. Please give your soil classification, needed uplift and pull-out load and installation depth. Multi-helix variants are best suited for loose or soft soils.

Q: What certification documents are available, and how can I verify quality before bulk purchase?

A: Every shipment is accompanied by certificate of origin, galvanising test records, dimensional test records and mechanical test documents. Recommended actions for pre-ordering: 1. Order a small trial batch for on-site installation and verification of the load. 2. Review test records. 3. Request a video inspection of finished items. 4. Arrange a third-party witness inspection for major tender projects.

Q: What is the MOQ, lead time, packaging and logistic arrangements?

A: Standard MOQ is 100 pcs per model. For typical goods, the lead time is 7-15 working days after order confirmation. Goods are bundled in anti-oxidation bundles or in hardwood boxes. We are able to handle sea and air freight, and offer full paperwork with every cargo, including certificate of origin and test reports. EXW, FOB and other terms of trade. Quotes available upon request.

Q: Can helical screw anchors be used in both anchoring and earthing applications?

A: Yep. Depending on the project design, the anchor can be both a mechanical foundation component and foundation earthing electrode. This dual function is especially advantageous for solar farm and transmission projects where structural support and grounding continuity are required at the same installation location.
